Boilout Chemicals and Foam Cleaners
The need for system boilout chemicals and foam cleaners
Deposition of contaminants occurs in the system over a period of time. These deposits tend to become loose during start / stop, change in system levels and may result in increased dirt count in the pulp and paper.
Periodical system boilout and / or foam cleaning (for difficult to clean areas where boilout chemicals would not be able to reach) are required to remove contaminant deposits.
The use of boilout chemicals provides the following benefits:
- Removal of a broad range of deposition problems in the pulp and paper making process.
- Impart good wetting property and emulsify the deposits rapidly.
- Impart excellent rinsing property.
- Enhanced cleaning effectiveness in closed equipment such as thickeners, tanks etc.
Application Areas
These chemicals could be applied at any part of the mill where deposition may occur due to pH change, temperature change and shear action including in the wet end of the pulp machine (primarily low consistency areas). For boilout process, chemicals are dosed with close circulation loop though some losses due to leakages may occur.
These products (except acidic range) should be mixed with hot caustic for rapid cleaning. Dosage levels would depend on the nature of deposits and the capacity of the equipment. Typical dosage levels ranges from 0.05 % to 1.5% of system volume for boilout process and 0.1 to 0.3 kg/square meter surface area for foam cleaners.
Products
Amazon Papyrus has a range of boilout chemicals and foam cleaners suitable for use in different system designs / types of deposition materials, raw material furnishes and specific purposes.
Our range includes:
- Boilout chemicals
These are heavy duty alkaline compounds meant for boil out and cleaning. These are typically a blend of caustic, surfactant and chelants. For cleaning inaccessible areas in the mill, foam cleaners are recommended. The foam generated will work as the carrier for chemicals to remove the deposits above water levels in the chest / tanks and hood / roof of thickeners etc.
- Acidic products
These are recommended for the removal of calcium carbonate deposits. Certain products are blended with small quantity of solvents.
- Foam cleaners (acidic and alkaline types)
These are very effective for hard to access areas, pipe lines, large volume tanks, rotary surfaces etc. They are very effective for localized cleaning and are highly cost effective
